Style Monday: candles

My favourite christmas gifts were the Bath and Body Works Candles with the polish sliver candle sleeves.  I love the look the bath and body work candle sleeves, it just makes the candles that much more decorative. Here are some picture of them burning in my room.
This is a picture of the large sleeve from bath and body works it almost looks like a diamond/chevron pattern.

The other candle sleeve I received was the snowflake pattern(14.5oz) that fits the 14.5oz candle perfectly. The snowflakes are just so festive and I love how I can still have it out as a winter decoration even when all my christmas decorations have been taken down and put away.

The scents of the candles are received are Merry Mistletoe I think it one of there best holiday candle scents.
The other candle is Sea Island Cotton it is classic scent that is at the store all year long and it smells very fresh and clean.

I am not normally a big fan of candles but these candle smell amazing and the fun sleeves you can pair with the candles make the candles so much fun.

Happy Monday!!

New Years Table Setting

I hosted a New Years day dinner party for my family at my parents house. It was lots of fun I cooked a 4 course meal and the best part about it is that I got to use my new china that I bought in the summer for the first time. I got a 11 place settings for 80 dollars from the antique market near my house. I am absolutely in love with it. Soo.. back to the meal,
1st course -  homemade cream of mushroom soup from the Julia Child cook book
2nd course -  simple garden salad with homemade oil and vinegar dressing
3rd course - julia child cream chicken (can't remember the name of it)
4th course - mini pomegranate cheesecake for dessert

I didn't have enough time to take pictures between surviving courses, but I did manage to take pictures of the dinner table before the meal began.

Here are some photos
Before the meal began and people came over I decided to put all my dishes on the table just to see what it would look like to do a proper place setting. It was way to crowed to eat a meal but it looked pretty.

1 place setting of the china, I have the mint green!

Funky and Fun New Years Centre Piece.

View from the head of the table.

 The Two Centre Pieces

When my family came over I just left the soup saucer on the table to make the table less crowded and ready for the 1st course.

More pictures of it!

I took some Christmas ornaments off the tree that went with the colour theme.

Everything all ready to go!

Even little place setting cards

Holly molly I took more pictures then I thought.

Enjoying the 1st course!

Last picture of the little christmas balls that are place card holders.

I hope you enjoyed my table setting arrangement as much as I enjoyed using my new dinner ware.

DIY Christmas stocking!

One thing that keep me busy this holiday season was making stockings for a whole family. Sorry for the bad photos as they were taken from my iphone quickly before I packed them up to give as a christmas eve gift.

Here is a picture of the final product!

The front of the stocking before the back and the lining was sew on.

Close up of the moms stocking!

Just one of my many crafts I did this holiday season, is there any you would like to share with me?

Happy new year!!!

Hope you all had a fantastic new year and all had a safe and happy holiday. My new years resolution is to be a blogger that has a new post every day or almost every day! I have so many things I could blog about but I am just so lazy to upload pictures and write a short post about it. But I really need to get over my fear and just get posting and not be so lazy. I am looking forward to sharing my projects and ideas with you. I hope whoever is interested can enjoy and read my blog.

Retro to Pretty

In the summer for 40 Dollars I purchases this retro china cabinet/hutch, and with a few coats of white paint I transformed it into one pretty attractive piece of furniture.

After

Before

I removed that weird tin/metal tray (that can be seen in the picture above) and then attached a piece of MDF moulding to cover the empty space. Once the piece of trim was painted white, it looked like it was suppose to be there.

I hope you enjoyed my quick furniture makeover and that it will inspire you to turn a not so glam piece of furniture to something that represents your style.

Anyone Seen this Paragon Pattern Before?

I bought Paragon China this summer from a antique market in Canada and there is no pattern name on the back. From the back stamp, I know it was manufactured between1960-1963. Here are some pictures of the china set from the store, the pattern looks exactly like the classic pattern but it is light green instead of white.
I was wondering if anyone could help me identify the pattern. I have looked everywhere on the internet and can't find the pattern name or number for my china.

If anyone has any idea of pattern it might be or knows of someone or some place I could ask, it would really help me out on my search! Thank you!!!!
