My mom has been bugging me to put a bunch of picture frames going up the stairs.
So I finally got around to it.... when I found a bunch of pictures frames on sale at HomeSense :)
All the picture frames in the picture ended up costing me next to nothing because each frame was around two to three dollars. But the pictures frames in the picture wasn't going to be enough for a whole stairwell, so I also gathered other picture frames I had laying around the house.
This is what the hallway looked like before! It was simple and nice, but my mom was sick of it and wanted something more out there... something to cover more of the wall.
My Mom and I decided that it was would be best if we did all the picture frames white because our stairwell is kinda dark and narrow and we didn't want to clutter it up with lots of different colours. So I sprayed painted all the picture frames white.
Before I started to paint I made cut outs of of the picture frames and arranged them on the wall until I was happy with the layout.
I wanted to create a design that will make it easier to add more picture frames in the future, because my mom is hitting that stage in her life where all her kids are going up, gradating, getting married and moving on. So there will be tons of big events in the future that she will want to add to the hall of frame.
So as you can tell around the outside of the arrangement there is still empty nooks and corners that will make it easier to adds more frames in the future.
When all the frames were painted I was ready for hanging time, having the paper arranged on the wall made it a lot easier then just eye balling it. I could just measure from the top of the frame to were the hook was to hang the frame. Then measure that same distance from the top of the paper that was on the wall.
So here is the finished product, WARNING some frames and still empty my mom is stilling deciding what pictures she would like to put in them.
The final before and after!
