My mom's living room and dinning room hasn't curtains for the past five years. So I decided to do something about it. I purchases two packs of Lenda Curtains from Ikea (29.99 for a pack), so that is a total of four curtain panels. I am planning on turning them from tab top curtains to pitch pleat curtains, I am hoping to have it done by friday so I will post the before and after pictures then. For now this is a picture of the difficult bay window I am working with in my mom's living room.
It has a difficult box/indent around the window so I am going to just hang the curtain on the main wall so that the curtain rod it hung high and wide, making everything seem bigger! Hopefully everything will look okay when I am done.

Th Next Project!
This week sometime I am planning to go back to my house that I rent well I am in school. I am planning on adding some texture to the walls in my bedroom. I am have been inspired by pictures on pinterest.. but I am dedcided what exactly I want to do. But here are the a few pictures that I have picked off pinterest... to show you what I am planning on doing this week.
These are some really bad pictures of what my bedroom looks like... I have changed a few things around since I took these pictures but you can get the general idea of what it looks like.
On the back wall behind my head board I want to put up all horizontal planks, and paint them white, but I am not completely sure what I want to do because the pictures on pintertest keep making me change my mind.
Here are some of the inspiring beautiful pictures that I have came across!

Vertical planks
Beautiful white horizontal planks
High Wainscotting with a legde
Horizontal again
Should I leave it natural wood?
Should I do something completely differently and frame out three sections of the wall?
This is the look I am planning for..... but it might change by tomorrow.
Have any of you put up panelling or planks in your bedroom before or came across any tutorials on the internet. If so I would love to heard from you.

Trash to Treasure!
So awhile back I found this wooden dresser that someone in my neighbour hood has out by the curb. So sure enough I thought I had to take a look, and lucky me it was solid wood. So here is what the dresser look like when I bought it home and gave it a light sanding! (yes, for some reason it only came with two knobs)
When I was done sanding and roughing up the finish, I took a gallon of white water base paint I had in my garage from a previous project. I rolled on the first two coats of paint and then brushed on the third coat to get rid of the drywall looking texture that the roller left on the dresser.
When I was all done and installed some new hardware that I got from Home Depot on sale..... 5 knobs in a package for 13.99... the downside is that I needed to buy two packs since I needed 6 knobs :( However it still ended up being cheaper then buying single glass knobs that were similar to that.
So here is the finished product!
Here are the lovely glass knobs...
Another picture of the dresser!
I am really happy how the dresser turned out and how it is the perfect place to storage all my summer clothes!

Can you say Lime Green!
So when I was in grade 6, I wanted to redecorate my room all by my self and I wanted the colour scheme to be purple, green and blue. (as you can tell) However this summer I planned on redoing my room, but I then I thought what will I do with all the old stuff in my room (the circle mirror, the curtain rod, the colourful vases, etc) I really don't want to throw them out because I still like them. Then if I get rid of all that stuff I will need to replace it which will cost money, money that I don't have when I am a student. Then I thought my room isn't really that bad, the lime green is a little bright but I bet I can clean it up a bit and make due. Below is the before picture that I have for you, my room is messy because I just moved home from university and my stuff was everywhere as you can tell. But hopefully once I clean it up there will be a difference between the before and after.
So wish me luck and hopefully I can make it one of those colourful chic and shabby bedrooms!

Bulletin Board Redo
I decided to dress up my boring Bulletin Board this week with some fabric and some ribbon. So here it goes.
Here is the ugly Bulletin Board before the redo.
First I measured the bulletin board and then cut the Fabric to the correct size, but I left a 1/2 inch over hang on all four sides so I could fold it under to have a nice seam around the edge.
Here is what the top looked liked after I glued it with a glue gun.
The little hot glue gun seemed to do the trick, stuck the fabric down pretty well.
Here is what it looked like when I was finished gluing down the fabric.
I glued a little blue ribbon around the edge to tidy it up and to add some texture.
On the white board I have these ugly markings from when I left the dry erase marker on there for too long. So I decided to glue gun a little pouch over top of it to hold my markers.
and here is the finished product with the pocket glued on the white board! What do you think does it look better? I will explain why I did the Bulletin board this fabric later in the week, kinda of a long story.
Anyone else have any bulletin boards they have redone lately, I would love to see it!

Another Amazing Movie House
When I saw the preview for the movie "Life As We Know It" I Knew I had to go see it because of the house. If you have seen the movie you will know what I am talking about. The detail in this house is amazing I can't believe how well it was put together for the movie, according to the blog "Hooked on Houses" the house was a movie set but the actual exterior of the house is a real place.
Here are some pictures!
Here is the beautiful exterior of the house
Here is the Living Room, I love the glass work around the entry way to the room
I love the U-Shaped stairs with the window at the landing.
This picture you just have to look at the huge glass doors and how they line up to each other so you can see directly right out side. I love it! Everything feels so balanced.
Here are the stairs in the Front Entrance, love the Jute stair runner.
So there you have it, you really have to watch the movie to see the full house and to really appreciate it. Does anyone else have any movie houses that they really love and dream of living in?

Things to Do this Summer
Here are SOME of the things I really want to do DIY this summer. Along with all the other crazy DIY ideas that are floating around in my head... but you have to start somewhere. I never been able to understand how people can be bored when I always have so much stuff to do. I am pretty sure I am the only person out there that is constantly making up stuff to do, I can't remember the last time I haven't had a project on the go.
Like I said before these are just SOME of the things I want to do this summer, but hopefully I can accomplish everything on post and even more.
How about everyone else, do you have list of things you want to do this summer?
I really want to DIY this mirror I found on pinterest, however I don't want to use plastic forks I need to find the cheap wooden bamboo ones.
I want to make a some unique wall art, just like this giant "P" made out of washers.
I need to DIY a roman shade, I am really interested to see how you actually make these.
I need to figure out how to make the prefect icing for cakes and cupcakes. So I can do pretty simple designs like this.
I want to make cinnamon pancakes just like these ones!
I want to make these smore pops around the camp fire, instead of trying to make the tradition smore.
Like I said before these are just SOME of the things I want to do this summer, but hopefully I can accomplish everything on post and even more.
How about everyone else, do you have list of things you want to do this summer?
