Retro to Pretty

In the summer for 40 Dollars I purchases this retro china cabinet/hutch, and with a few coats of white paint I transformed it into one pretty attractive piece of furniture.

After

Before

I removed that weird tin/metal tray (that can be seen in the picture above) and then attached a piece of MDF moulding to cover the empty space. Once the piece of trim was painted white, it looked like it was suppose to be there.

I hope you enjoyed my quick furniture makeover and that it will inspire you to turn a not so glam piece of furniture to something that represents your style.

Anyone Seen this Paragon Pattern Before?

I bought Paragon China this summer from a antique market in Canada and there is no pattern name on the back. From the back stamp, I know it was manufactured between1960-1963. Here are some pictures of the china set from the store, the pattern looks exactly like the classic pattern but it is light green instead of white.
I was wondering if anyone could help me identify the pattern. I have looked everywhere on the internet and can't find the pattern name or number for my china.

If anyone has any idea of pattern it might be or knows of someone or some place I could ask, it would really help me out on my search! Thank you!!!!

Another Painted Dresser

Heres a another dresser I painted this summer, I love the colour of it I think it would look great in a boys room. It is the prefect blue that could go in a baby room and eventually make its way into a teenage room. Here are some before and after pictures.

I debated striping it down and re staining it, but I didn't have much time until I had to go back to school and the wooden knobs that came with the dresser weren't all the same material and size so I would have to buy all new knobs(expensive). So I think I made the best choice by painting it.

The blue is much darker in person, the picture were taken when it was extremely sunny outside. Hope you all enjoyed it.

10 Easy and Creative Fall Decorating Idea

1. Hang the leaves you find outside in your house, to preserve the leaves you can dip them in wax.

2. Go outside and pick some of your favourite leafs and glue them to a white piece of paper, to create fun and easy wall art.

3. Put some mini pumpkins and branches in a glass vase for a simple centre piece.

4. Another simple centre piece is a candle placed in a glass vase with some dried indian corn.

5. Hide the unattractive plastic planters that your fall mums come in with a pumpkin that is carved to the right size.

6. Collect leafs from outside and glue them into the shape of a letter, for a personalized door wreath.

7. Use mini pumpkins as table cloths weights well entertaining.

8. Go to your locals farmer's market or farmer to purchase a brick of hay. Provides a festive display for your pumpkins.

9. Make a pumpkin in to the perfect candle holder, and use it for a centre piece.

10. When entertaining, use a curve pumpkin to dress up a plan serving bowl.

From Road Side Garbage to Stunningly Chic

Here is one of the favourite Pieces of Furniture I painted this summer. I found it at my neighbours curb. I think it turned out Stunning.

This is it when I picked it up, and after I took the hardware off. Can you Believe that it actually the original hardware. When I wired wheeled the rusted gold paint away I was left a beautiful nickel finish.

 After: Lots of Photos
